New Year and Aliens : For Tim’s birthday, he decided that he wanted to do a movie marathon with the Aliens movies. I hadn’t seen any of those before (they always seemed too scary) so he decided that meant we definitely had to watch them. (posted Jan 6, 5:24pm)

Maybe a baby : The only reason we could come up with for having a baby: All our friends are having babies and we’d be able to show that we’re better than them and win at parenting (guess which one of us came up with that one). (posted Jan 5, 9:29pm)

A clean out : I also went through my box of “I don’t fit into these clothes anymore but I like them too much to give away, so I’ll keep them just in case” and I fit into most of them again. The ones that I didn’t I happily put away – I have many skirts to wear again now and a few shirts. (posted Jan 5, 1:43am)

A sad Christmas : Our little Auggie was a bit of a drama queen. If you stepped on his foot, he’d limp around for days, but would forget which foot hurt and alternate between a few of them. So it really shouldn’t have surprised us that he chose Christmas Eve as the final day to go out on. (posted Jan 4, 5:09am)

Year in Review : I am not doing too well with Holidailies this December, but I am also having a difficult life, and if it is a choice between writing a mopey entry or curling up on the couch and doing some real moping, I am picking the couch. Five years ago : It was my first year with Tim, I was living in Brisbane with Mel (in Toowong), I missed my cat who has died a few months earlier (at the age of 17), I watched the OC, I wrote in my journal all the time. (posted Dec 16, 12:55am)

The work bake-off : Our work bake-off was held yesterday. I made brownies on Saturday night so that I could eat them and also be prepared in case our oven burned all the brownies and it was a disaster. (Our oven likes to go too hot! then too cold! then too hot and burn things) (posted Dec 15, 4:10am)

Less cranky today : And as we were leaving, it was pointed out that Tim and I were matching, both wearing blue shirts. At least we weren't wearing the same coloured shorts. I can't remember which one of us got dressed first, but probably it is my fault since Tim isn't so good with colours. (posted Dec 12, 2:30am)

150 years (and two months) : Today is the official celebration of 150 years for Queensland as a state. It is also the two month anniversary of our marriage. I think the second one is more significant, obviously. (posted Dec 10, 3:35am)

Cuddling kittens : Things I am not thinking about while I am thinking about kittens - sewing I am yet to do for Christmas presents, restructuring that is happening at my work, baking I need to do, if the friends I eat lunch with will be split off into a different company from me, and family issues. Wallpaper : I had been wondering lately if our house had wallpaper when it was first built and what it was like. Now I have my answer. It would have been a whole wall of this. (Also kitten photos) (posted Dec 8, 3:03am)

Holidailies once again : This year Tim and I are hosting Christmas dinner for his family and have decided to do something climate-based rather than something traditional. This may cause a controversary that will echo through the ages, but if it does, we will not be required to host Christmas dinner ever again. (posted Dec 7, 3:21am)
