Christmas Eve and Day : I will probably not be able to complete Holidailies, unfortunately. The 12 hour delay between posts will keep me from getting up to 31 posts. Reveillon : We spent Saturday night in New Orleans, and Sunday morning after mass we headed to Avenue Pub for some lunch. I had a duck sandwich that was fantastic. We spent in the afternoon walking around the French Quarter ducking in and out of some of the art galleries. It was an absolutely beautiful day. (posted Dec 22, 11:52pm)

Travel and Blogging : As the astute observer may have noticed, I have not posted the last several days. We have been travelling around, and I have fallen behind. The Beard is Done : So after thinking yesterday afternoon that the beard was staying, the itching started last night. I couldn't take it anymore, and I shaved before I went to sleep. I could see how irritated my skin was underneath my beard. I apparently have sensitive skin, and it had just had enough of being poked by my beard. (posted Dec 19, 8:38am)

Getting ready to head out : Tomorrow morning we head to Baton Rouge for Christmas. I will actually be staying in Louisiana for two weeks with Carrie coming back to Austin for some time between Christmas and New Years. It will be fun to be home. South Louisiana is a special place. Brine : Last night I roasted a chicken for supper. I decided to do something different and try and soak the chicken in a brine before the roast. Beard : So today I shaved, but just a little. Inspired by several people over the weekend I'm going to let my holiday beard come to be. The itchiness is always what makes me shave it all off. Elf : Tonight Carrie and I watched Elf with Will Ferrel. We are both big fans of this movie. It's silly and absurd, but I find it very endearing and it makes both of us smile. Christmas Pop Singalong at the Alamo : Tonight we hit up the Alamo Ritz downtown for their Christmas Pop Singalong. It was a great time. We went through all kinds of songs from the Muppets to Mariah with all kinds of craziness thrown in for good measure. (posted Dec 14, 2:39am)

Organ Music : Last night Carrie and I went see an organ recital at UT in the Bates recital hall. The organ at UT is really amazing, and the two professors who played last night did a great job. The hall is fantastic and the sound really hangs around. It was a fun and different holiday music experience. (posted Dec 13, 2:02pm)

Cheaha starts today : Today I went ride my bike for the first time in a very long time. It seems my personal fitness is very much a yo-yo. The Pictures : I wanted to post a few of the pictures from the weekend. We hit the Golden Gate bridge right at sunset on Saturday, so it look particularly pretty. Bay Area Day 2 : The beginning of day 2 started well with some hearty breakfast at a diner near Meg and Harry's apartment. We then bought our tickets for Alcatraz online and headed into the city.
