Whispers of Fairydust by Jennifer Bolton (30)
Last whisper of Christmas - Day 30 : I thought today I would share one last Christmas image with you. It is my brother's tree last year, and I thought it was very pretty .. dancing with light. May you have a lovely evening :) (posted Jan 5, 9:54pm)

4 Years ago today ... (Day 29) : A LOTTA rain came down and we had flooding in Lake Creek Park across the street from the house. (posted Jan 5, 9:41am)

January 3 (Day 28) : Her hair was just barely to her shoulders, and she was so shy and hesitant to try the different bouncers (posted Jan 4, 10:21pm)

January 2 (Day 27) : We're planning to go to the cabin again this year, but not until the end of January. It saves a lot of money, and we'll be able to come down from Christmas a bit before we go out there. We've got four new peeps coming along this year, and we're staying in a bigger cabin. I'm psyched (posted Jan 4, 9:43am)

A New Year, a new cooktop (Day 26) : Our new cooktop actually arrived on December 30, but it took almost 7 hours (all told) to install it. (posted Jan 3, 9:25pm)

Reflecting on 2009 (Day 25) : Considering all those things, though, and knowing I can't live in the past - I'm very glad 2009 is over and that I have 2010 as a beautiful and clean new year to fill with new memories and achievements. (posted Jan 3, 1:24pm)

Happy New Year's Eve eve (Day 24) : See, I was so caught up in Christmas and whatnot, that I forgot to share our experience of December 28 - going to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra in Austin with Hubby, Kenn, and Lex. (posted Jan 2, 7:33pm)

The Christmas bowling ball has rolled over me (Day 23) : I think the group gift exchange was very successful, and I look forward to tweaking it a bit and doing it again in 2010. Mr. Man is the only one who complained we didn't get as many gifts. Everyone else thought it was a much "healthier" approach to the holidays. (posted Jan 2, 8:53am)

Time flies, and Christmas' Past seem not so far away (Day 22 : Hubby helping Miss Thang open her very first Christmas Stocking. She didn't quite understand the wrapping paper, but she loved to be surprised by what was under it. Hubby sat her on his lap, and unwrapped her gifts while telling her to watch - and then her face would light up when she saw the object inside. (posted Jan 1, 9:47pm)

The love of sisters (Day 21) : Miss Thang and her cousin, were sitting on the chair, and Miss Thang just curled herself up into the crook of her cousin's arm. It was such a sweet and innocent act, and I realized that while they might not be related by blood, they are sisters in every other sense of the word. (posted Jan 1, 10:14am)

Caught up (Dec. 26 - Day 20) : I would say I'm basking in the afterglow of a lovely Christmas, (posted Dec 31, 9:05pm)

Christmas Eve (Dec. 24 - Day 18) : Growing up in a house where there were only 5 stockings hung each year (one was for the dog), this size family is more than I could have ever dreamed of. (posted Dec 30, 10:57pm)
Whispers of Fairydust by Jennifer Bolton (30)
(Dec. 23 - Day 17) : Miss Thang insisted that if her brother could be a wise king, she wanted to be a wise QUEEN. So, we asked the director, and she said yes. (posted Dec 30, 10:56am)

Choir Party antics (Dec. 22 - Day 16) : Sadly, though, I ended up with an 18-pack of Cottonelle. My hubby brought home a "gift pack" of Spongebob mugs and hot cocoa mix. (posted Dec 29, 9:33am)

(Dec. 21 - Day 15) : Family outings are something that will truly move your heart into the Christmas Spirit! :) (posted Dec 28, 9:38pm)

Good Yul! (Dec. 20 - Day 14) : On December 20, we hosted a Yul event for Red Oak and its' friends. Before we put the Yul log on the fire we wrote our hopes and wishes for the new year on small papers and tied them to the log. (posted Dec 28, 9:34am)

more 2009 Christmas thoughts (December 19 - Day 13) : Miss Thang's class performed a rendition of St. Lucia, a holiday practiced in Sweden and several other Scandinavian countries. (posted Dec 27, 4:58pm)

Playing catch-up (Dec. 18 - day 12) : She lit up when they played "Ode to Joy" and I couldn't have been prouder. I think she has worked so hard to get that learned - having missed half the semester from having a broken arm. (posted Dec 26, 10:21pm)

Wishful thinking part deux (day 11) : He cried and wanted to be picked up, and hubby and I could NOT stop laughing at the look on his face. We handed him a small snowball, and he held it in his bare hands but he was torn between having a ball and having cold hands. (posted Dec 17, 10:09pm)

Wishful thinking (day 10) : I hope that if you are in a snowy area that you take joy in the snow. Throw a snowball for me, or write a silly phrase in the snow for all to see. I miss it here in the heart of "no snow here"Ville. (posted Dec 16, 11:18pm)

Father Christmas (day 9) : The gentleman they chose to play "Santa" was quite impressive. They even had a little person dressed as an elf, managing the line of waiting children. The kids loved the jovial fellow, and they were happy to share their wishes with him. (posted Dec 15, 10:47pm)

Storytime a "long, long time ago" (day 8) : We didn't spend the night at Grandmother and GrandDad's house very often, so this must have been a special occasion. (posted Dec 14, 10:12pm)

When We Were Young (day 7) : My brother and I were playing ... together. All I can figure is that our parents told me that Santa would be watching. (posted Dec 14, 9:56am)

Is this the little boy I carried? (Day 6) : It's hard to believe that come fall, both kids will be in elementary school. No more dependent care FSA monies to set aside, and I will only have to do ONE drop off and ONE pickup a day! (posted Dec 13, 9:48pm)
Whispers of Fairydust by Jennifer Bolton (30)
You've come a long way, baby (day 5) : If there is one recommendation I have for you in your holiday sojourns, it is to stop and savor the littlest happy moments - a snowflake landing on the windshield of your car, a hug from a child, a Christmas card from an old friend. They go by so fast. :) (posted Dec 12, 9:34am)
Whispers of Fairydust by Jennifer Bolton (30)
From our home to yours ... (day 4) : We have a ... unique front porch - the archway, the brick, and the door make a pretty picture all by themselves. But, when you add on some greenery, a few lights, and a couple of bows - the season gets rolling (imho). (posted Dec 10, 12:08pm)
Whispers of Fairydust by Jennifer Bolton (30)
Days of yore (day 3) : I remember that Christmas because it was the first time that Mr Man was "engaged" with his gifts. He wanted to explore everything and be in the thick of the celebration. (posted Dec 9, 10:30pm)
Whispers of Fairydust by Jennifer Bolton (30)
All on a winter's night (day 2) : On that trainboard was my mother's 1952 Lionel train set. It had two switches to operate it - one for the whistle, and one to make it go forwards and backwards. It puffed smoke, and there were lights inside the caboose and the engine. I would watch the train, completely fascinated, for what SEEMED like hours. (posted Dec 8, 7:51am)

Holidailies Introduction (day 1) : My first Christmas - I was about 7 months old, and apparently teething. Funny enough, I got this same toy of stacking rings for my son when he was born, and he chewed on his quite alot as well (as did little sister when they were passed down to her). (posted Dec 7, 11:29am)
