The Nutcracker: posted on Dec 15, 4:10 pm by Visible Woman (Visible Woman) - 14 entries
FFP saw many of the productions from the wings in his years as a VIP Mother Ginger wrangler. Tonight he will don the new costume and ride the skirt portion on stage, propelled by stagehands and with children dressed as bonbons lurking underneath. The bonbons will emerge, he will try to upstage them with his 'moves' (but their proud relatives in the audience will ignore him) and he will be wheeled off. (0 likes)

Las Vegas is a city obsessed with VIP status. Many people walk around with the sense that they are a VIP, even when they are just normal people. This is so weird in comparison to Wisconsin, where you are reinforced from babyhood to be cautious of other peopleís feelings, make sure that you arenít taking advantage of someoneís generosity, and above all else, put no one through unnecessary trouble. Val took to her instrument right away and has been a fast learner. We discovered not long ago that she has perfect pitch. I can play a random note on the piano, and she can identify it. Ask her to sing a "B" and she can! Perfect pitch!!! That is truly impressive for a twelve (almost thirteen) year old!!! (0 likes)

I'm going to try to talk about baseball, but it's difficult because I have SO MANY FEELS. Luckily for you guys, I remembered that I actually wrote something down a few weeks ago, and it's much more coherent than I manage to be most of the time. So that's what's here, pretty much verbatim. The winter ocean was dark blue and slate grey, and the waves were choppy and tipped with white, but Harmony didnít feel the cold when she was swimming. And she was swimming, fast and purposefully, following the hiss of raindrops falling in the cold sea, and the rumbling voice she knew so well, except that this time, her thunder god, her Oskar, wasnít merely calling her name. He was singing. (0 likes)
